A Russian man wanted in connection with a sex act filmed on the bed of a moving pickup truck in Phuket has been arrested at Suvarnabhumi airport, police said on Thursday.

The suspect was identified only as Georgii, a 23-year-old Russian tourist.

Police said he was believed to be the man seen in a video of a couple in the back of a pickup truck while it was driving along a bypass road in Phuket on Wednesday night.

The 15-second clip shows a foreign man holding the waist of a woman from behind while she holds a rope tied to a bar on the bed of the black pickup.

The woman in the video has yet to be identified, but she was also believed to be Russian.

Police say Mr Georgii left Phuket and was on his way out of the country via Suvarnabhumi airport. Immigration officers found him around 3.45pm on Thursday and questioned him at the airport before preparing to turn him over to Phuket police.

Phuket police recommended that the Immigration Bureau revoke Mr Georgii’s visa and place him on a blacklist, barring future entry into the kingdom.

Police in Phuket had discovered that the suspect had a history of posting explicit videos on social media.

Performing an obscene act in a public place carries a fine of up to 5,000 baht.
