American found dead on Pattaya hotel balcony

A 50-year-old American man was found dead on a sixth-floor hotel balcony in Pattaya, his head hanging down outside the railings, early Monday morning.

Passers-by reported seeing his body to Pattaya police about 1am.

The dead man was on the balcony of a seven-storey hotel on Jomtien 2 Road. He was wearing only grey jeans and slippers

Police said the man appeared to have been dead for at least three hours. There were no signs of violence in the room or on his body. 

Police were waiting for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

The man's name was withheld pending notification of relatives.
