Police took 36 Chinese people into custody for drug tests and immigration checks after raiding a party at an after-hours club in Pattaya early Thursday morning.

About 40 officers raided the Tomorrow Land Club off Pattaya 3 Road at 3.30am after being informed about possible drug use.

The club operated in a four-storey luxury building and the tourists were using two karaoke rooms when police found them.

An initial search did not find any drugs or illegal items. Police were waiting for drug tests on the 36 Chinese people rounded up, and their immigration status would also be examined, police said.
