TERMS OF PURCHASE

These Terms of Purchase govern all subscriptions offered by Bangkok Post Public Company Limited (“Bangkok Post,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) at www.bangkokpost.com, including digital, print, and Epaper subscriptions. By completing a purchase or accessing a subscription, you agree to be bound by these Terms together with our Terms and Conditions of Use. If you do not agree, please do not proceed with any subscription.

  1. 1. Introduction and Formation of Contract

These Terms of Purchase (“Terms”) govern all subscriptions offered by Bangkok Post Public Company Limited (“Bangkok Post”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), including digital subscriptions, print subscriptions, and Epaper subscriptions, available through www.bangkokpost.com.

By purchasing, accessing, or using any subscription, you agree to be bound by these Terms together with any applicable offer-specific terms presented at the time of purchase (“Offer Terms”). In the event of any inconsistency, the Offer Terms shall prevail to the extent of such inconsistency. These Terms should be read together with our Terms and Conditions of Use, which govern your use of the service.

Submission of payment details constitutes an offer to purchase a subscription. A binding contract is formed only when payment has been successfully verified and we have confirmed acceptance by issuing a confirmation. We reserve the right to accept or reject any subscription request at our sole discretion without liability.

We may amend these Terms at any time by posting updated Terms on our website. Continued use of the subscription following notice of any such amendment constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We will use reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes in advance.

  2. 2. Eligibility and Account Responsibility

By subscribing, you represent and warrant that: (a) you are at least 18 years of age, or have obtained consent from your parent or legal guardian; (b) you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement; and (c) all registration and payment information you provide is accurate, complete, and current.

You agree to maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials and to accept full responsibility for all activities conducted through your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account at digitalsub.admin@bangkokpost.co.th.

Unless otherwise expressly permitted, each subscription account is intended for use by a single individual and may not be shared, transferred, or assigned. Bangkok Post reserves the right to terminate any account found to be shared or used in violation of these Terms.

  3. 3. Subscription Types and Access

    1. 3.1 Digital Subscription

A Digital Subscription provides access to Bangkok Post content via its website and designated digital platforms. Unless expressly stated at the time of purchase, access to the Epaper is not included.

Access may vary depending on the subscription tier, platform, or applicable promotional offer. Digital services are provided on an “as available” basis. While we endeavour to maintain continuous access, we do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. Access may be affected by scheduled or emergency maintenance, technical issues, or third-party platform limitations.

You are responsible for ensuring that your device and internet connection meet the technical requirements specified on our website. We are not liable for any inability to access the service arising from device incompatibility, outdated software, insufficient bandwidth, or external system limitations.

Original receipts will be issued within three (3) to five (5) business days from the date of payment in electronic format (PDF) and delivered to the registered email address.

    2. 3.2 Print Subscription

A Print Subscription entitles the subscriber to delivery of the printed Bangkok Post newspaper to a single designated address within our delivery coverage area. We reserve the right to verify delivery locations and to refuse or discontinue service in areas deemed inaccessible, outside our delivery coverage, or otherwise operationally unfeasible.

All print subscriptions must be paid in full in advance through our designated payment channels. Subscription activation occurs only after payment has been verified and a confirmation has been issued by us.

For new subscriptions where valid proof of payment is received and verified before 12:00 noon (local Bangkok time), delivery is expected to commence on the following day. During public holidays or extended holiday periods, the applicable cut-off time is 11:00 AM (local Bangkok time). We reserve the right to adjust commencement dates accordingly and will notify you of any changes.

Renewal confirmation and payment must be completed no later than seven (7) calendar days prior to the subscription expiry date. Failure to renew within this period may result in interruption or termination of service, for which we accept no liability.

Subscribers may request temporary suspension of delivery (up to a maximum of 30 consecutive days per calendar year) or a permanent change of delivery address by notifying us at subscription@bangkokpost.co.th. Requests received before 12:00 noon (local Bangkok time) on any business day shall take effect on the following day. During public holidays or extended holiday periods, requests must be received before 11:00 AM (local Bangkok time). Requests submitted after the applicable cut-off time shall take effect on the next business day. Bangkok Post does not issue refunds or credits for temporary delivery suspensions unless otherwise stated.

Delivery times are estimates only. Delivery may be affected by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to weather conditions, traffic disruptions, public holidays, labor disputes, natural disasters, or force majeure events. We shall not be liable for delays or missed deliveries arising from such circumstances.

    3. 3.3 Epaper Subscription

An Epaper Subscription provides access to a digital replica of the printed Bangkok Post newspaper in PDF or dedicated application format. Access is granted for personal, non-commercial use only.

An Epaper Subscription is separate from and does not include any Digital Subscription access unless explicitly specified at the time of purchase.

Upon successful completion of the subscription process and receipt of full payment, the subscriber’s account shall be activated within twenty-four (24) hours. A confirmation email will be sent to the registered email address. If the confirmation email is not received within 24 hours, please check your junk, spam, or other email folders before contacting us at enewspaper@bangkokpost.co.th.

Receipts will be issued within three (3) to five (5) business days from the date of payment in electronic format (PDF) and delivered to the registered email address.

All content accessed through the Epaper service remains the intellectual property of Bangkok Post or its licensors. Reproduction, distribution, transmission, storage beyond personal use, or any other commercial exploitation of such content without our prior written consent is strictly prohibited and may give rise to civil and criminal liability.

Compatible devices, supported operating systems, and internet connectivity are required to access the Epaper service. Details of current technical requirements are available on our website.

  4. 4. Account and Access Management

To change the email address associated with your Bangkok Post account, please contact digitalsubscription@bangkokpost.co.th. Bangkok Post reserves the right to request verification of account ownership before processing any such request.

Upon expiration or cancellation of a paid subscription, the subscriber’s account shall automatically revert to a Free Web Member account with corresponding access limitations. Any reading streaks, activity history, progress indicators, or related engagement data displayed within your profile may be permanently removed upon expiration or cancellation. Bangkok Post shall have no obligation to restore or reinstate such data.

Subscriptions registered as individual accounts may not be converted, transferred, or amended to corporate, organisational, or institutional accounts, and vice versa. Any change in account classification shall require a new subscription registration using a different email address.

Bangkok Post reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to your account without prior notice where it reasonably suspects unauthorized access, security breach, or violation of these Terms. You remain responsible for all activity on your account prior to suspension or termination.

  5. 5. Subscription Term, Billing, and Payment

Subscriptions commence upon successful payment confirmation, unless otherwise specified at the time of purchase. Applicable fees, billing cycles, and further relevant terms will be disclosed to you at the time of purchase and in the confirmation email.

By subscribing, you authorise Bangkok Post to charge your selected payment method for the applicable subscription fee and, where auto-renewal applies, to charge on a recurring basis at the end of each billing period. If your payment provider makes updated payment details available to prevent service interruption, you authorise us to use those updated details.

You are responsible for all applicable bank charges, currency conversion fees, taxes, and any charges imposed by third-party payment providers in connection with your subscription.

Bangkok Post reserves the right to conduct identity verification, fraud prevention, and payment verification checks at any time. We may refuse, suspend, or cancel any subscription where such verification cannot be satisfactorily completed.

If your payment method fails or becomes invalid, we may suspend or terminate your subscription without prior notice. You remain liable for any amounts due and outstanding at the time of suspension or termination.

  6. 6. Pricing, VAT, and Pricing Changes

All subscription fees displayed on the Bangkok Post website are inclusive of applicable Value Added Tax (VAT) at the prevailing statutory rate, unless otherwise expressly stated. Bangkok Post will display applicable taxes separately in any official tax invoice or official receipt where required by applicable law. Any automatic payment confirmation or temporary receipt may show the total amount paid and will not constitute a tax invoice unless expressly stated.

Bangkok Post reserves the right to change subscription fees, applicable taxes, or the features included in a subscription at any time. Where possible, we will provide at least thirty (30) days’ prior notice of any material price increase. Where possible, we will provide at least thirty (30) days’ prior notice of any material price increase that will apply to an existing recurring subscription or renewal. Continued use of the subscription following the effective date of any price change constitutes your acceptance of the revised pricing.

If you disagree with a price change, you may cancel your subscription before the change takes effect. No refund will be due in respect of any billing period already paid.

  7. 7. Auto-Renewal

Unless otherwise specified at the time of purchase or subsequently cancelled, subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current standard rate. By subscribing to an auto-renewing subscription, you expressly authorise Bangkok Post to charge the applicable renewal fee to your designated payment method without further action on your part.

You may cancel auto-renewal at any time before the next scheduled billing date by contacting us at the relevant email address or through your account settings. Cancellation of auto-renewal will not entitle you to a refund for any billing period already charged. Bangkok Post shall not be responsible for any renewal charge successfully processed before a cancellation request takes effect.

  8. 8. Promotional Offers and Free Trials

Promotional offers, introductory pricing, and free trial subscriptions may be subject to additional specific terms disclosed at the time of the offer. Unless you cancel before the end of the applicable promotional or trial period, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the then-current standard rate.

Promotions and free trials are generally available to new subscribers only and may not be combined with other offers. Promotions and trials are not available to current subscribers or to persons who have held a subscription within the period specified in the relevant offer, unless expressly stated otherwise.

Bangkok Post reserves the right to modify, suspend, or withdraw any promotional offer or free trial at any time and without liability.

  9. 9. Third-Party Subscriptions and Platform Purchases

If you purchase a subscription through a third-party platform or marketplace (for example, Apple App Store or Google Play), billing and account management will be handled exclusively by that third party under their applicable terms and conditions. You must direct all enquiries regarding billing discrepancies, refunds, or cancellations to the relevant third party.

Bangkok Post is not responsible for any billing errors, disputes, additional fees, or other issues arising from third-party platform arrangements. The features and access level of your subscription remain subject to these Terms regardless of the platform through which it was purchased.

  10. 10. Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription or turn off auto-renewal at any time by contacting the relevant subscription team (see Section 14) or through your account settings. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current paid billing period, and you will retain access until that date. No refunds or credits will be provided for any remaining unused time in the current billing period upon cancellation.

All subscription fees are otherwise non-refundable once charged or processed, except where required by applicable law or in the following circumstances, where Bangkok Post may, at its discretion, issue a refund, credit, or other appropriate remedy:

    1. • duplicate or incorrect charges arising from a Bangkok Post system error;
    2. • demonstrably unauthorised transactions not initiated by you;
    3. • documented technical failures attributable to Bangkok Post that prevent access to the subscribed service for a continuous period of forty-eight (48) hours or more; or
    4. • other circumstances where Bangkok Post, in its sole discretion, determines that a refund or remedy is reasonably appropriate.

All refund requests must be submitted to Bangkok Post within thirty (30) days of the relevant charge. Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have under applicable Thai consumer protection legislation, including the Consumer Protection Act B.E. 2522 (1979) and its amendments.

  11. 11. Suspension and Termination by Bangkok Post

Bangkok Post reserves the right to suspend or terminate your subscription immediately and without prior notice if you: (a) breach any provision of these Terms or the Terms and Conditions of Use; (b) fail to make any payment when due; (c) provide false, inaccurate, or misleading information; (d) misuse or attempt to abuse the service; or (e) take any action that Bangkok Post reasonably considers harmful to the service, other users, or third parties.

Upon termination for breach, Bangkok Post reserves the right to recover any outstanding amounts owed and to pursue all available legal remedies. No refund of any pre-paid subscription fees will be issued upon termination for breach.

In the event of termination for reasons other than breach (for example, discontinuation of a subscription type), Bangkok Post will provide reasonable prior notice and issue a pro-rata refund for any prepaid period not yet served.

  12. 12. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, logos, software, databases, and other intellectual property made available through the Bangkok Post subscription service are the exclusive property of Bangkok Post Public Company Limited or its licensors and are protected under Thai law, including the Copyright Act B.E. 2537 (1994) and the Trademark Act B.E. 2534 (1991).

Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable personal licence to access and use the service and its content for personal, non-commercial purposes only during the active subscription term. No ownership or other intellectual property rights are transferred to you by virtue of your subscription.

You must not reproduce, redistribute, sell, adapt, publicly perform, publicly display, transmit, or otherwise exploit any content obtained through the subscription service without prior written consent from Bangkok Post.

  13. 13. Personal Data and Privacy

By subscribing, you acknowledge that Bangkok Post will process your personal data, including payment information and contact details, for purposes related to the administration of your subscription, billing, customer support, fraud prevention, and service improvement.

Bangkok Post will not sell your personal data to third parties. Your data may be shared with trusted service providers and payment processors acting on Bangkok Post’s behalf, subject to appropriate data processing agreements.

You have the right to access, correct, delete, or withdraw consent to the processing of your personal data at any time (subject to applicable legal exceptions) by contacting webmaster@bangkokpost.co.th or the Data Protection Officer at dpo@bangkokpost.co.th.

  14. 14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Bangkok Post shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your subscription or use of the service, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, or loss of business opportunities.

Bangkok Post’s total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising under or in connection with these Terms shall not exceed the total subscription fees actually paid by you to Bangkok Post in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits Bangkok Post’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

  15. 15. Dispute Resolution

In the event of any dispute, complaint, or concern regarding your subscription or these Terms, we encourage you to contact our customer service team in the first instance to seek an amicable resolution.

  16. 16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand.
