Singapore Changi Airport defended its title as Airport of the Year in 2026, winning the honour for the 14th time in the 27-year history of the World Airport Awards by Skytrax.
Yam Kum Weng, CEO of the Changi Airport Group, accepted the top honour alongside four additional accolades — for premier airport dining, immigration services, passenger volume tier dominance, and regional supremacy across Asia — at the awards ceremony held in London on March 18, 2026.

Among other key Asean airports Soekarno–Hatta International Airport in Jakarta ranked 22nd, Kuala Lumpur International Airport ranked 60th, Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi ranked 71st, and Danang Airport in Vietnam was 75th.
Judging Criteria
The World Airport Awards are highly regarded by the global aviation industry, determined by votes from customers in the largest annual global airport customer satisfaction survey.

Participant Reach: Based on questionnaires completed by airport customers of over 100 nationalities.

Scope: Assesses customer service and facilities across more than 575 airports worldwide.

Cost-free Access: The survey and awards process is provided to airports at no cost.

Evaluation Period: Conducted from August 2025 to February 2026, evaluating key performance indicators (KPIs) spanning the entire customer experience across products and services.
Note: Hamad International Airport in Qatar, a three-time Airport of the Year winner, withdrew from the World Airport Awards 2026 and all other industry events, citing the disruptions caused by the Middle East conflict and the need to focus on safety of passengers and staff.
