Mae Bang‑on desserts: Four decades of daily fresh sweets and resilience
At 73, Bang‑on Muantong still runs her traditional Thai dessert shop after roughly 40 years, insisting on daily fresh production. The business survived severe Covid downturns through perseverance and now balances tradition with mechanisation to meet demand.
Ms Bang‑on's famous specialties is Thai traditional sweets like foi thong (egg yolk threads). Her dessert shop is in Pak Kret district, Nonthaburi province.
