ONE Championship will proceed with tonight’s cards at Lumpinee Stadium, but under a subdued atmosphere following the death of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavati.
Officials confirmed to the Bangkok Post on Friday that The Inner Circle 18 and ONE Friday Fights 158 double header will go ahead as scheduled, after the Royal Household Bureau announced the Princess had died on Thursday evening at the age of 47 following a long illness.
“We extend our deepest condolences on the passing of Her Royal Highness the Crown Princess of Thailand,” ONE said in a statement provided to the Bangkok Post.
“Tonight’s ONE Friday Fights will proceed as scheduled. Out of respect and mourning, the event will be held with subdued audio and music.”
The Princess had been receiving treatment at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital since December 2022, and mourners began gathering there on Friday to pay their respects.
ONE has adjusted the tone of its Lumpinee Stadium events before during periods of national mourning.
Last October, the promotion proceeded with ONE Friday Fights 131 following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, later asking fans to dress in black and white at Lumpinee as a mark of respect.
ONE took a different approach in March 2025, when it cancelled a Friday night event in Bangkok after the 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar and was felt across the Thai capital. The promotion returned the following week after Lumpinee passed a safety inspection.
Friday’s cards will continue another busy week at the Rama IV Road venue, with 350,000 baht performance bonuses and US$100,000 ONE Championship contracts again available for the night’s most impressive performers.
The Inner Circle 18, the paywalled live-streaming portion of the night, is headlined by a flyweight Muay Thai bout between Tomyamkoong Bhumjaithai and Azerbaijani brawler Anar Mammadov.
ONE Friday Fights 158 is topped by a strawweight Muay Thai clash between Thai knockout artist Maisangkum Sor Yingcharoenkarnchang and Petnamkhong Sor Maneekhot.
