Temperatures could hit 42C this week as the Meteorological Department warns of scattered thunderstorms and gusty winds.
The Northern and Central regions are facing extreme heat this week, with daytime temperatures soaring to 42C and hazy skies, the Meteorological Department reported.
The heat, combined with southern and western winds, is creating scattered thunderstorms and occasional gusty winds across some areas.
The Northeastern region is expected to reach highs of 37–41C, while the Central region may climb to 38–42C, with thunderstorms mostly affecting its southern parts.
Bangkok and surrounding provinces could see temperatures up to 41C, accompanied by isolated storms. In the Eastern and Southern regions, daytime heat will remain high, with rainfall in 10–30% of areas.
These conditions are expected to persist across northern, central and southern Thailand until Saturday.
