The tenant of the flat where the fire broke out said she had been charging a newly-purchased power bank. As she was holding the device, she said the powerbank started to spark and smoke, and caused a fire. She quickly left the flat to seek help as the room burst into flames.
Initial reports suggest that the fire was due to the powerbank malfunctioning, resulting in the battery exploding while being charged. Authorities will be conducting a thorough investigation to conclude the true cause of the fire.
