BURI RAM - A viral video showing three sixth-grade girls assaulting a female student while others cheer has sparked outrage in Prakhon Chai district, with the victim’s mother vowing to pursue legal action.

The incident involved a sixth-grade girl identified as Cream, who was slapped and had her hair pulled by three students in a secluded area near a rice field. The attack was filmed and later shared on social media.

A former friend from another school reportedly lured Cream to the location after sending her a message asking if she wanted to “fight”. Cream said she went because she did not believe they would actually attack her.

The victim said that an eighth-grade student from another school orchestrated the assault because she disliked her, instructing three girls to carry it out while several other students watched and cheered.

One of the attackers later told reporters she acted under pressure from the older student and feared being assaulted herself if she refused. The girl reportedly apologised to the victim after the incident.

The victim’s mother said she was shocked after seeing the video and immediately returned home from another province. She said she would take action against everyone involved and was concerned her daughter could be targeted again.

The grandmother of one of the attackers said the family was distressed by the incident and planned to personally apologise to the victim and her family.

Administrators from the schools attended by both the victim and the attackers said they were investigating the circumstances surrounding the assault and would work with parents and relevant agencies to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
