EXAT waives expressway tolls for Songkran 2026

The Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT), under the Ministry of Transport, has announced a temporary toll waiver for the Songkran festival as part of its “Smart Travel Songkran 2026” campaign, which promotes safe and convenient journeys—emphasising that, regardless of departure time, travellers can reach their destinations safely.

The initiative aims to ease travel, reduce costs for the public and support smoother, faster and safer journeys during the 2026 Songkran holiday period.

Toll exemption details:

Burapha Withi Expressway and Kanchanaphisek Expressway (Bang Phli – Suksawat section): tolls waived for seven days, from April 10 at 12.01am until April 16 at midnight.

Udon Ratthaya Expressway, Chalerm Maha Nakhon Expressway, and Si Rat Expressway: tolls waived for three days, from April 13 at 12.01am until April 15 at midnight.

The toll waiver is in line with government and Ministry of Transport policy and forms part of the amended concession agreements between EXAT, Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited (BEM) and Northern Bangkok Expressway Company Limited (NECL).

The measure is expected to ease traffic flow, reduce congestion at toll plazas and enable more convenient travel during the long holiday period — whether for returning home or leisure trips.

Drivers are advised to plan their journeys in advance, comply strictly with traffic regulations and ensure their vehicles are roadworthy. For further information, please contact the EXAT call centre on 1543 around the clock.
