Since opening in November 2023, Chiang Mai Marriott Hotel, which was rebranded from Le Méridien Chiang Mai, continues to refine and improve with the latest addition of a new complex dedicated to event facilities and entertainment.

Located in the lively Changklan area, guests at Chiang Mai Marrott Hotel are greeted by the good feng shui of a gushing fountain out front upon arrival, before the grand lobby overwhelms them with a huge dose of Lanna beauties.

A multitude of lanterns hang from the very high ceiling, representing Chiang Mai's famous Yi Peng Festival. Copper-coloured pottery replicas are beautifully arranged on a low table. Making your arrival symbolically auspicious, a large-scale copper-coloured replica of ngoen jiang, an ancient Lanna currency, stands out in the centre of the double-volume entrance space. The Lanna inspirations are also integrated into room interiors and the new event and entertainment complex.

A total of 383 rooms are spread across 22 floors, each offering guests either a view of the city with Doi Suthep (weather permitting) in the background or just the city. There are 11 accommodation types, with the entry type being Deluxe and the Royal Suite being the most opulent and sitting on the top floor with 250m².

The rooms and suites feature large windows, work desks, bathrooms with glass and marble features, rain showers and bathtubs. Although there's no private balcony, a big daybed set next to the big windows is more than enough for napping and taking in the view.

Club Rooms, known as the "M Club", are on the 21st and 22nd floors. Guests staying in Club rooms and higher categories have access to the double-volume M Club where they can enjoy exclusive perks throughout the day from refuelling with refreshment, catching up on work, to arranging informal meetings.

The fourth floor serves as a hub for wellness and recreation. Guests can also enjoy an infinity-edge pool, doing laps with Doi Suthep in the background.

On the same floor, they can also find a children's pool, a kids' room, a well-equipped 24/7 fitness centre with floor-to-ceiling mountain views and Quan Spa.

Late last year, the hotel launched Plaii (male elephants in Thai) Hybrid Meetings & Entertainment Complex as its new crown jewels. The hotel means business in their goal to become a Mice hub as the new complex is a three-storey integrated event and lifestyle destination, featuring the cutting-edge Plaii Ballroom, 11 fully equipped meeting rooms, executive breakout suites and a mingle space for networking.

The complex further boasts The Wang Bar, Chiang Mai’s first private golf simulator rooms, private karaoke lounges, and The Plaii Eatery Café & Bar, creating an environment where business and pleasure mingle.

The Plaii Ballroom, the complex's pièce de résistance, stands out as Thailand’s first 360° immersive LED ballroom that would likely deliver a lasting (and possibly viral) impression. Attendees will be engulfed by spectacular visuals and sound delivered through an 84m wraparound LED display with a 6.24m height, in 400m² of pillarless space. They set the stage for grand affairs such as product launches, conferences, luxury celebrations and weddings. With the launch of the complex, the hotel now offers a total of 22 meeting rooms and more than 2,800m² of event space.

The other business the hotel takes seriously is a diverse range of dining options. Favola Chiang Mai showcases regional Italian flavours crafted with hand-selected imported produce and freshly sourced local ingredients.

Located on the ground level, Han The Chinese Cuisine specialises in Cantonese cuisine and delicious dim sums, while Gaj Kitchen & Bar offers an all-day dining experience and Chiang Mai's favourite recipes.

Lastly, the Pool House invites guests to unwind beside the aforementioned pool with botanical-inspired beverages and light dishes.

Location-wise, guests at the hotel will be conveniently placed right in the heart of the city, with neighbouring night bazaars and restaurants, while Tha Phae Gate is just 1km away for more cafes, Tha Phae Walking Street and iconic shots with the gate's red bricks and fluttering pigeons. Besides retail therapy, you can get some spiritual therapy at Wat Loi Kroh, a five-minute walk from the hotel, to drift away your bad luck as the name suggests.

Coconut Market is a 15-minute drive from the hotel, but it's worth your while if you're looking for cool handcrafts, street food and fun exploration and photo-ops in a coconut plantation.
