The royal medical team is closely monitoring the health of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati due to a severe infection that remains uncontrolled, affecting the function of several major organ systems, the Royal Household Bureau said in a statement on Thursday.
The seventh statement was made for public acknowledgement, following the previous update issued in September last year.
The princess, 47, has been at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital since Dec 15, 2022, after losing consciousness due to a heart-related condition while training her pet dog in Pak Chong district of Nakhon Ratchasima province the day before.
She has also periodically experienced complications from infections.
The latest statement said that in April 2026, doctors detected an abdominal infection caused by inflammation of the large intestine. This caused her condition become unstable, including low blood pressure, irregular heartbeat and abnormal blood clotting.
Doctors have continuously provided respiratory and kidney support, administered multiple antibiotics, as well as medications to raise blood pressure and control heart rhythm. However, her condition has continued to deteriorate, the statement said.
The condition indicates an uncontrolled, severe infection, which is affecting the function of several major organ systems.
The royal medical team continues to provide full treatment while monitoring her condition closely, the statement added.
Princess Bajrakitiyabha is the eldest daughter of His Majesty the King and Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali Krom Muen Suddhanarinatha.
