World film series / TK Park / May 9
The 2026 Contemporary World Film Series at TK Park opens with a film from Nepal. "Hijo Aja Ka Kura" is a film adaptation of the TV series, "Hijo Aja Ka Kura", which aired for 18 years. The movie centres on four families facing various domestic challenges, including the realities of having children living abroad. Red Bull Dance Your Style Thailand National Finals 2026 will be held at Hua Lamphong on May 8. Top 12 finalists and four wild cards will bring their own flavour to finals. The winning national champion will fly to Zurich, Switzerland to represent Thailand and battle against the best dancers from across the globe at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final.

Avani Ratchada Bangkok presents "Wine Play – Viva Vintae", a contemporary interpretation of Spanish-inspired culture, on May 8 at Metro Lounge. The evening features a curated selection from Vintae, a new-generation Spanish producer known for reinterpreting regional identities through a modern lens. The experience brings together distinctive expressions from across Spain — from Priorat and Moncayo to Navarra and Ribera del Duero, alongside the fresh coastal expression of Albariño, a white grape variety from northern Spain. Guests can enjoy unlimited pours from the curated selection, complemented by cheeses, cold cuts, fresh oysters and canapés, accompanied by live jazz.

Fireplace Grill and Bar is serving a special seafood menu until June 30. Expect appetisers such as Akami tuna tartare with dashi custard, wasabi, soy jelly and popped pork crackling; a golden king crab salad with refreshing melon, calamansi and saffron; and plump grilled Hokkaido scallops with corn purée, pickled red onions and Iberico ham. Main course offerings are Char-grilled scampi with sudachi, shiso and blood orange caramel; Pan-seared John Dory served with heirloom carrots and vadouvan; and Baked toothfish in an aromatic Asian herb crust enjoyed with sautéed spinach and morels.

Boxing event / Angsana Laguna Phuket / May 9
Adding to the diversity of sporting events, the Angsana Convention and Exhibition Space at Angsana Laguna Phuket will host the "Phuket White Collar Boxing" event on May 9. The event offers individuals with little or no boxing background to confront a personal challenge. This event will also benefit the Children First Fund, a Laguna Phuket foundation dedicated to nurturing the hearts and the dreams of underprivileged children across four local orphanages in Phuket.

Boots Retail (Thailand) has launched the “Thais Support Thais With Boots” campaign, under the concept “Boots - Best For Less”. The campaign features more than 900 popular items across a wide range of categories. To further support Thai consumers in managing everyday healthcare expenses, Boots is participating in the government’s “Healthy Body, Happy Wallet” initiative, helping customers access prescription medicines at more affordable prices. As part of this effort, Boots has adjusted prices on more than 160 medicines across its pharmacies nationwide.

Indonesian-American singer-songwriter lullaboy will be returning to Thailand, after announcing his second Asia tour, taking place across July and August this year in nine cities. He will be taking his 90-minute show to Artspace Bantadthong on July 28. The tour marks a bold new era in lullaboy’s career, centred around his newly released 12-song album "hotels & heartbreaks".

Unlimited freshly made dishes take centrestage at "Thai Brunchderful Weekend", featuring unlimited grilled Ayutthaya River prawns, free-flow access to more than 20 drinks, and freshly prepared Thai cuisine at Ekkaluck, Madi Paidi Bangkok. International Jazz Week / The Living Room / April 30 to May 4
The Living Room at Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit announces the return of International Jazz Week, being held from April 30 to May 4. Jazz week coincides with the 30th anniversary of Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit and three decades as Bangkok's premier address for world-class live music. The Living Room will present an ambitious programme of more than 10 performances, each a distinct chapter in a global musical conversation spanning continents, centuries and genres. To complement the artistry on stage, the culinary team has composed three handcrafted canapé sets, each a curated journey through a distinct gastronomic tradition.

Aqua Bar at Anantara Siam Bangkok will host a bar takeover featuring guest bartenders Peter Chua from Night Hawk in Singapore, Aslam Zainal from Offtrack in Singapore and Jon Lee from Penrose in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on May 5.The one-night-only experience under “Aqua Beat & Bites”, bringing together the bartenders along with chef Antoine Darquin of Bisou. The Thai Exhibition Association (Tea), in collaboration with key public and private sector partners, officially opened Thailand Mice X-Change 2026 (TMX 2026), a leading exhibition and conference dedicated to the exhibition, conference and event industry. Co-located with Mice Day 2026 under Thailand Mice Week 2026, organised by the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), the event takes place on April 29-30 at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. Under the theme “Innovation & Sustainability: Powering Excellence & Growth in Thailand’s Mice Industry”, TMX 2026 brings more than 4,000 industry professionals from Thailand and around the world and features more than 100 leading event solution providers, showcasing comprehensive solutions from venues, booth design and construction, logistics and event technology to marketing, communications and hospitality services. Meliá Chiang Mai has launched a two-night stay package that routes a portion of the proceeds to a food rescue foundation. The Sustainability Package includes two nights’ accommodation with breakfast and one three-course set dinner for two based on seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients at Mai Restaurant and Bar. The package supports Scholars of Sustenance (SOS) Thailand, a food rescue foundation established in 2016 to enhance the country’s food system. The package is until June 14.

New package / Hua Hin Marriott Resort & Spa / Until Sept 30
Hua Hin Marriott Resort & Spa has launched the “Stay, Spend, Savor” package. Available for bookings and stays until Sept 30, the offer combines comfortable accommodation with generous resort credit. Ideal for every type of beachfront break, the package includes daily breakfast for up to two adults and one child. The resort credit can be redeemed for à la carte dining or spa experiences.
New resort / Minor Hotels
Minor Hotels recently signed two new resort properties in Thailand in partnership with Rasa Group: the Colbert Collection Koh Samui and Avani Koh Phangan. This marked the debut of the Colbert Collection brand in Asia. On Chaweng Beach, the Colbert Collection Koh Samui is a 32-key beachfront resort, operating as Buri Rasa Village Samui, which will transition to Minor Hotels management on May 1, with rebranding scheduled for the first quarter of 2027. The resort will offer a design-led experience, with facilities including multiple culinary opportunities, swimming pool, fitness centre and spa. On Koh Phangan, Avani Koh Phangan is a 63-key beachfront resort on Thong Nai Pan Noi Beach. Currently operating as Buri Rasa Village Phangan, the resort will transition to Minor Hotels management on May 1, with full rebranding to Avani scheduled for next year. The resort will feature a range of room categories including pool access and oceanfront options, alongside relaxed dining venues, a beachfront swimming pool, AvaniKids club, and AvaniFit gym.

Rebrand and expand / MLBB
Moonton Games unveiled its "Two Champions, One Game" vision for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) at the 2026 Esports World Cup (EWC). The mainstay title introduces the rebranded MLBB Women's International (MWI) and the expanded MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC). The rebranded MWI (formerly the MLBB Women's Invitational) marks a new era for women's esports as it transitions into a fully-realised global championship. At EWC 26, MWI will stage its largest edition to date, with open qualifiers spanning more than 60 regions. This edition will also see the debut of MWI's Western Europe qualifiers as the tournament broadens its competitive footprint. The tournament serves as a platform for women across the world to pursue their esports aspirations and a chance to compete for a life-changing US$500,000 prize pool. MSC returns with expanded global representation by introducing qualification pathways for teams from India, Thailand, South Korea and Western Europe for the first time.

Maison Fred presents Namtan Tipnaree in two looks featuring the new Force 10 creations. Wine winners / Star Wine List
Star Wine List of the Year Southeast Asia was recently held in Singapore with eight venues in Bangkok and Singapore scooping Gold Stars across 12 categories. Winners include a mix of previous champions and new faces to this international competition. Haoma in Bangkok earned a Gold Star for sustainability four years running and the Gold Star for the Best Short List three years running. Similarly, Inddee in Bangkok took Gold Stars for the Best Medium List and Best By-the-Glass List for a third consecutive year. Best Austrian Wine List winner was Ms. Maria and Mr. Singh in Bangkok, while Best Italian Wine List winner was Cannubi by Umberto Bombana in Bangkok. Best Bordeaux Wine List winner was The Wine Merchant Park Silom.
