Jim Thompson continues to go "beyond silk' by joining forces with The Blue Jasmine, a restored historic train travelling from Bangkok’s Hua Lamphong station to four provinces, with stops at ancient sites.

In a collaboration with DTH Travel and the State Railway of Thailand, Jim Thompson has curated a range of travel experiences to complement the journey. From a welcoming event and dinner to stepping onboard, The Blue Jasmine features Jim Thompson-designed interior décor, dining essentials, personal accessories and the brand’s first-ever onboard showroom.

The Blue Jasmine is a 1960s heritage charter train, featuring 10 cars that accommodate up to 36 passengers. The journey takes travellers from Bangkok to the ancient sites of Ayutthaya, Uthai Thani, Sukhothai and Chiang Mai. Soak in the art of slow travel and curated stops that allow passengers to explore Unesco heritage sites, engage with local artisans, connect with communities and savour Thai cuisine.

The experience commences with an exclusive dining event at Jim Thompson at the Jim Thompson Heritage Quarter. A special Blue Jasmine five-course menu presents contemporary Thai dishes with diverse flavours from across the country.

The visit includes a tour of the Jim Thompson House Museum, comprising six traditional Thai teak houses built in 1958, showcasing Thompson’s passion for Thai architecture and a collection of Asian art and antiques. Then, a stop at the Jim Thompson Iconic Store before boarding the train at Hua Lamphong.

Around 2,000 Jim Thompson decorative items transform the cars into a moving showcase of refined Thai heritage craftsmanship. The design centres on harmonious colour coordination, creating a sense of unity throughout the journey.

The train has an observatory, dining and accommodation cars, each adorned with Jim Thompson Home Furnishings. The curated interiors reflect the true spirit of Thainess, with decorative items crafted from the finest silk, including curtains, cushion covers, bed and table runners.

Dining essentials and personal accessories from the brand enrich the onboard ambience, from placemats, napkins and coasters to amenity kits that include make-up cases and sleep masks. Each piece features botanical prints that echo the changing Thai landscape throughout the journey. Select items also draw inspiration from Thai traditional weaving techniques.

The first-ever Jim Thompson Showroom on a train is a dedicated store area featuring Jim Thompson's iconic silk products along with select fashion and lifestyle collections, which can be purchased online via QR code, with delivery arranged at the end of the trip.

Following The Blue Jasmine's inaugural journey in November last year, additional trips are scheduled for January, February, July, November and December. The 2027 journey schedule will be announced soon.
