The Election Commission (EC) has ordered vote recounts at nine more polling stations in Bangkok and four other provinces.
The commission resolved to conduct new counts for both list-MPs and constituency MPs at the nine stations, following recommendations from the EC Office and fact-finding reports from provincial and Bangkok election offices.
The nine stations are in four locations in Suphan Buri, two in Chanthaburi and one each in Bangkok, Trang and Samut Sakhon, the EC Office said on Monday.
The move followed media reports and complaints alleging irregularities in the performance of polling station or vote-counting committees on Feb 1 and Feb 8, 2026.
Issues cited included incomplete posting of candidate lists, reading out vote counts without displaying ballots, marking tallies without clear visibility and excess tally marks. Such alleged irregularities may warrant a new vote or a fresh count, the agency said.
The EC said the recounts aim to ensure the poll is conducted honestly, fairly and in accordance with the law, to uphold transparency and public confidence.
Details of the polling stations ordered to recount are as follows:
- Suphan Buri, Constituency 1, Mueang district: Polling station 11 in tambon Sanam Chai — party-list ballots only
- Suphan Buri, Constituency 2, Bang Pla Ma district: Polling station 4 in tambon Ongkharak — party-list ballots only

- Samut Sakhon, Constituency 3, Krathum Baen district: Polling station 33 in tambon Om Noi — party-list ballots only
All nine polling stations have been instructed to complete the recounts by March 1.
On Feb 17, the EC ordered recounts at eight locations, including one in Bangkok, and a fresh election at one station in Phayao province.
There were 99,487 polling stations in the Feb 8 general election.
The EC, an independent government agency and the sole election management body of Thailand, has faced a flood of complaints about its handling of the polls, with some legal actions already under way seeking annulment of the results and new nationwide polls.
